This 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Convertible is quite a unique car. After all, Pontiac didn't offer an official convertible this year, and this specialty build has the sleek look of a roadster. And not only is this a unique drop-top, but also the HO V8, overdrive transmission, and loaded interior mean you'll show off this distinct F-body at places near and far.
The two-seat convertible configuration makes this a true collector's item. This was the first couple of years of the 3rd gen Firebird, and Pontiac was selling plenty of this new design. So there was no need yet for an official convertible. But the convertible is a symbol of the American open road, and if Ford was going to have a Mustang drop-top available, some GM fans were not going to get left behind. That's why a few people with deep pockets would get their car custom converted by Auto Form. They are a specialty professional builder, and their construction could better be described as by the handful rather than mass production. Because this was a specialty product they took the time to give you some beautiful details. The back seat was eliminated so that you could store the roof without a trace, and the custom panel had head fairings to make this Trans Am look like a personal roadster. As cool as this looks with the top down, the roof arrangement is also quite sophisticated. The top of the interior roof is nicely upholstered, and it has proportions that remind us of the Mercury ASC McLaren. This has the right sporty style you love in a Trans Am with the power dome hood, factory body kit, and the rear tonneau even still carries the full spoiler. The burgundy paint is a later respray that has the right age for a classic while still having a good gloss to showcase the sleek lines of the 3rd gen Firebird. The fit and finish look quite well-respected in the way the full package fits together, and the low odometer is even believed to reflect the full actual mileage. Plus, the gold lower body section and gold 16-inch alloys give this a premium two-tone look that's timeless on a T/A. Fans of the show Knight Rider may even point out that KITT had a similar setup in the final season. That happened in 1985, and because this is a 1984 mode, you can tell people that KITT copied you!
The interior reinforces the look of low miles and good care on this specialty vehicle. These were expensive conversations when new, and so that means they made sure to load them up with the best features. This includes power windows, power locks, cruise control, and an upgraded AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a, but it will need servicing and/or parts to blow cold again. And you can appreciate how this is built with driving in mind. The bucket seats are finished in a comfortable cloth, which is perfect for the days you're cruising in shorts. Plus, you have the right sporty features with the tilt/telescopic steering column, sport steering wheel, and full round gauge with large speedo and tach.
Another reason this is a great driver is because of what's under the hood. The 305 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor is always ripe for plenty of affordable power upgrades. But as you can see, this one is refreshingly stock and correct. Besides, these High Output motors are already quite impressive for their torque off the line. And when you add power steering, power brakes with front discs, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive, you get a classic that's ready for road trips. You'll even see that there's added cross bracing during the convertible conversion.

SHIPPING
: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.
DRIVE IT HOME
: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.
DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE
: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.
VIN VERIFICATION
: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle's current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.

: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase.
